If you’re looking for a designer childrenswear or baby clothes shop in the East of Scotland, you must drop by The Merrygoround in Gullane. Our shop sits right in the middle of the Main Street, Gullane, surrounded by fabulous golf courses (including Muirfield, the Home of the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers and the chosen course for the 2013 Open Championship!). We are close to one of Scotlands most beautiful beaches and there are many interesting off-road walks or cycle paths available for all. Looking for a day out – give Gullane a try!
We find time and time again that our on-line customer aren’t aware that we have a shop! Well, here’s a little history lesson on The Merrygoround! We started out in 2005 with a little rented shop a few doors along the street in Gullane. At that time we sold brands like Jean Bourget, Miniman and Steiff.
In 2008 we took the plunge and bought a much larger property, still on the Main Street, Gullane and The Merrygoround has just gone from strength to strength ever since. We only launched the online business in the summer of 2010 so it’s really still just a baby! We now have regular customers from New Zealand, Japan, Finland, Switzerland plus many, many from London which we just love. Imagine living in London and shopping for your kids from a childrenswear shop in Gullane – really makes us smile!
Our brand list has moved on quite bit over the years, due to customer demand and our ever increasing knowledge and understanding of what’s available our there. We’re finding that more and more of our customers are looking for value for money while still wanting their little one to look great. This has led us to move towards brands like Mayoral Clothing, Little Joules, Absorba and Kissy Kissy to name a but a few. Older girls are well looked after with Desigual andYumi dresses which again look fabulous, but don’t break the bank. Newer labels for us include the fantastic British brands Lilly and Sid and Toffee Moon and we’ve just had our second delivery of Hatley of Canada raincoats with matching welly boots and umbrellas. Check out the boys Hatley Monster coat – ooh, scary!
Anyway, hopefully that’s enough to explain a bit about our background and just to show our lovely customers from around the world what we look like – here’s a couple of pics!
